“Aprecio que la iniciativa haya decidido contemplar la creación y participación de comisiones permanentes regionales porque permitirá fortalecer y corregir el sistema judicial del país”, afirmó la legisladora Soledad Alvear.

La senadora Soledad Alvear destacó el positivo avance de su propuesta de crear una comisión permanente de coordinación del sistema procesal penal, luego que el Senado aprobara en forma unánime la iniciativa, que ahora debe cumplir con un tercer y último trámite en la Cámara de Diputados para convertirse en ley. La parlamentaria enfatizó que “el proyecto persigue dar solución a los problemas en la misma medida que se vayan detectando, como también fortalecer y procurar el correcto funcionamiento del sistema procesal penal, y la mejor manera de hacerlo es a través de estas comisiones técnicas”.

La propuesta tiene como finalidad establecer esta comisión de carácter permanente y consultivo, de tal manera que todas las autoridades involucradas en materia judicial intervengan para saber qué está funcionando bien o mal.

“El proyecto busca que las distintas autoridades que tienen que ver con la reforma procesal penal puedan tener una comisión coordinadora de manera permanente, como la que funcionó hasta hace poco tiempo, a objeto de hacer un seguimiento”, afirmó la senadora Alvear, quien a su vez valoró que se haya decidido incorporar al General Director de Carabineros y al Director General de la PDI, y que también se contemple la existencia de las mismas comisiones a nivel regional.

Cabe señalar que la Comisión Nacional estará integrada por el Ministro de Justicia, quien la presidirá, el presidente de la Corte Suprema, el Fiscal Nacional del Ministerio Público, el Defensor Nacional de la Defensoría Penal Pública, el Presidente del Colegio de Abogados con mayor número de afiliados, el Subsecretario de Justicia y durante el trámite en el Senado se incorporaron a las máximas autoridades de Carabineros y de la PDI.
